One-Click Formatting for Google Docs (“the Extension”) helps users apply saved formatting presets to Google Docs. This policy explains what information the Extension accesses, how it is used, how it is protected, and when it is shared.
When a user chooses a Google Doc through Google Picker, the Extension receives permission to access that selected
file using the Google Drive drive.file scope. This permission is limited to files that the user has
selected for use with the Extension.
For the selected Google Doc, the Extension temporarily reads document structure and formatting information needed to apply the selected formatting preset. This can include paragraph text/style metadata, links, lists, tables, and other document formatting information exposed by the Google Docs API.
The Extension also stores user-created formatting presets using Chrome's storage API. Presets contain formatting preferences such as fonts, sizes, colors, spacing, borders, list styles, link styles, and table styles.
Google Docs information is used solely to identify the selected document's structure and apply the user's chosen formatting preset. The Extension does not use Google Docs content for advertising, profiling, analytics, sale, or unrelated purposes.
Formatting presets are used only to provide the Extension's formatting functionality.
The Extension does not sell, rent, or share Google Docs content or user-created presets with third parties. Document data is exchanged directly between the Extension and Google's APIs over HTTPS. The Extension does not operate a server that receives or stores the contents of users' Google Docs.
The Extension uses Google Picker and Google APIs to authenticate the user and access the specific Google Doc selected by the user.
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.file.
The Extension does not retain Google Doc contents after the formatting operation is complete. Users can delete saved formatting presets from within the Extension. Removing the Extension also removes its locally stored extension data according to Chrome's extension data handling.
Users can revoke the Extension's Google account access through their Google Account security settings.
The Extension relies on Google services, including Google Picker, Google OAuth, Google Drive API, and Google Docs API, to authenticate users and access files that users explicitly select. Google's handling of information is governed by Google's own privacy policies and terms.
The Extension is a general productivity tool and is not directed at children.
One-Click Formatting for Google Docs' use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
If the Extension's data practices materially change, this policy will be updated before the changed practices are introduced where required by applicable policies.
